CPF members lauded

Capt Louise Le Roux of Brighton Beach SAP receives excellence award.

LONGSTANDING members of the Bluff Community Policing Forum (CPF), Eric Retzlaff and Lynn Erasmus were lauded for their commitment at the recent annual general meeting.

Both Eric and Lyn have served with the CPF for more than 10 years. They were awarded honourary membership status for their contribution to the community. Unfortunately, due to ill-health, Eric, who is also a member of the Dunville Road Community Watch has resigned.

A certificate of excellence was awarded to Bronwyn Pletzer for establishing and running the Victim Friendly Facility at the Brighton Beach police station, where she counsels people who are affected by crime.

Capt Louise Le Roux of Brighton Beach SAP was also awarded a certificate of excellence for her involvement in the community.

For over a decade, the Bluff CPF has formed a link between the community and the police. The CPF has dealt with a variety of issues including zone violations, vegetation, problem houses and squatters. The task is difficult and the progress slow, but it is through perseverance that results are achieved.
