WI members keep fit

The next group meeting will be held on Tuesday, 5 August and hosted by Stainbank WI.

YELLOWWOOD Park Women’s Institute president opened the meeting and greeted all members and visitors.

A special thought for vice president, Sharon Quail, our thoughts and prayers are with her. We were fortunate to have as speaker, Charisse Shepard of Ageless Grace. She put members through a work out, with many laughs as well.

It was great fun and hopefully our members will keep it up and all be slim for summer. Everyone enjoyed a delicious tea. many thanks to our tea members. Next month’s tea members are Jean Ball, Norma Chaplin and Anne du Plessis. The treasurer gave a financial report and the secretary read out the last minutes which were confirmed. She also read a letter of thanks from Evelyn House and an invite to lunch from Tafta. The members on the sales table for next month are Robyn Murray, Jean Donkin and Joan Prenger.

We had no birthdays during July. Vanessa asked for raffles for the monthly meeting, if possible something edible.

Our wonderful volunteers will do duty at Meals on Wheels on 14 July and at the Outspan Residential Home on 21 July. We will be working at the Botanic Gardens on 26 July. Do not forget the items for the Kombat Fair to be held on 3 August, we did so well at the last fete, the funds will go to local charities. Don’t forget Percy the duck, he needs to be fed every month. Members are still knitting gloves for the Seafarers which will be handed over at our birthday party.

The next group meeting will be on Tuesday, 5 August and hosted by Stainbank WI.

The raffles were won by Jan Kirk, Marsha Hart and Linda Melson.

Lindo Melson will be our delegate at congress to be held in September. The meeting closed with the women’s institute prayer.
