Brighton to benefit from beach clean-up

Register for the annual International Coastal Clean-up.

THE annual Friends of the ICC beach clean-up is set for Saturday, 20 September at Brighton Beach.

The International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) is one of the world’s biggest clean-ups, with volunteers working together to get rid of litter and debris from shorelines, waterways and oceans.

This year’s local clean-up will begin at Brighton Beach from 9am to noon and volunteers will clean, moving south, focusing on the dunes. Anyone taking part should take strong gloves, a hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, water and lunch.

Anyone interested in participating must RSVP by Friday, 29 August to the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa’s Petros Moya. Call 031-467-8507, fax 031-467-8288 or email petros.moya@wessa.co.za.
