Hope health clinic needs help

Clinic needs help to help others.

THE fifth Durban Christian Centre (DCC) Hope Centre Clinic will take place in Wentworth on Saturday, 20 September and the organisers are requesting local organisations or individuals to get involved.

The annual community medical screening outreach programme aims to promote healthy lifestyles among the communities they visit. Health education and medical screening are the primary focus of the event and include, among others, TB, cholesterol and HIV testing, body mass index and blood sugar tests, dental care and eye screening.

“More than 4,000 people were treated in 2013 when the event was held in Mayville. This year we plan to highlight health promotion among young children through puppet shows to educate them on dental care and nutrition and are looking at assisting 1,000 people in Wentworth,” said DCC Hope Centre director, Khosi Nyawo.

Anyone willing to assist either financially, or by offering services should call Shane on 082-782-1194 or email shane@dcc-admin.co.za.
