Weekend crashes see 13 injured
Two crashes on Solomon Mahlangu Drive left many injuries.
THIRTEEN people were injured this weekend in two crashes on Solomon Mahlangu Drive (formerly Edwin Swales VC).
On Saturday, 30 August at about 10.30pm, three people were injured in a collision near Southway Mall. Rescue Care operations director, Garrith Jamieson said the paramedics who attended the scene were shocked to find both vehicles had come to rest on their roofs on the busy road.
In a second accident on Sunday, 31 August at about 6.30pm, a truck-taxi collision left 10 people injured, three of them seriously.

According to Jamieson it appeared as if a truck had T-boned a taxi at the intersection of Solomon Mahlangu Drive (Edwin Swales VC) and Bellair Road, injuring 10 taxi passengers.
Paramedics found some of the injured inside the vehicle and others on the pavement and called for more assistance to deal with the number of injuries.
In both incidents, the injured were stabilised at the scene and transported to various Durban hospitals.
