Hime Rd man cuffed for unlicensed gun, ammo

Wentworth SAPS headed by Lt Lynton Houston arrested a man for being in possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition in Hime Street on Thursday, 4 September.

 
When constables Singh and Mcobothi searched the flat they found a silver Smith and Wesson .38-special and live ammunition hidden inside a plastic bag. The 38-year-old man was arrested and charged for being in possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition.

 
In another arrest at the same flats on Thursday, 4 September, police found 14 plastic packets of cocaine, grey tablets suspected to be mandrax, five grams of dagga and 13 tablets suspected to be ecstacy and a packet with white powder, possibly ecstacy. A 62-year-old woman was arrested.

 
Both the man and woman appeared in the Wentworth Court on Friday, 5 September.
