A woman was hijacked in Cathcart Avenue, Woodlands on Monday, 8 September at about 6.20pm.
While parked in the driveway of her home, Laureen Mthethwa was approached by three men. Two of the hijackers forced her car door open and pulled her out. Mthethwa wanted to throw her keys on the driveway, but the third hijacker held a gun to her head. “The hijackers told me not to scream and cry,” said Mthethwa.
The hijackers noticed her handbag on the seat and took her cellphone and gave her the money bag inside the handbag. The three men fled the scene in Mthethwa’s black Honda Jazz. A case was opened at Montclair SAPS. “I was so scared. I can still picture the gun in my mind,” she said. On Wednesday, 10 September Mthetwa was notified that her car had been recovered at a pound in Isipingo.
