Teen nabbed with 600 heroin straws

A Wentworth teen was arrested for drugs possession as police warn they are not backing down.

WENTWORTH SAP’s Lieutenant Lynton Houston issues a stern warning to drug dealers that no-one will be overlooked as they arrested a teenager in possession of 600 heroine straws.

The Wentworth SAP cluster crime prevention team, commanded by Lt Houston arrested a 15-year-old boy at a block of flats in Hime Street who had 600 heroin straws with a street value of R20,000.

He appeared in court on Thursday, 11 September, where bail was opposed by police because of the quantity of straws found in his possession. Police are investigating further and more arrests are expected.

“Adult drug dealers need to take this as a warning, that no drug den or shebeen outlet will be overlooked. Bail in future cases will be opposed, especially for petty offenders,” warned Lt Houston.
