Bushlands road still a dump site

Local ward councillor calls for action on eye sore.

DESPITE two years of requests for action by ward 66 councillor, Duncan Du Bois, the vacant land on Bushlands Road on the Bluff remains an eyesore.

Du Bois believes the land, which is owned by the KZN Housing Department should be sold for development purposes.

“I have made this request for the past two years, to no avail. KZN Housing does not bother to maintain the plot and as a result it is a dumping site and invariably overgrown, except when the eThekwini Parks Department reluctantly clears it on behalf of KZN Housing.

I can’t accept that provincial bureaucracy is unable to put this plot up for sale. Their intransigence and procrastination makes a mockery of all their rhetoric about taking the country forward.”
