SDCEA hosts international speaker
The SDCEA hosts a meeting on asthma and cancer statistics as they relate to the South Durban Basin.

AN international guest speaker, Peter Orris, will participate in the South Durban Community Environmental Alliance’s (SDCEA) asthma and cancer seminar on Thursday, 9 October.
Professor Orris, who has worked with health and cancer cases all over the world is the chief of service occupational and environmental medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System.
The aim of the seminar is to create awareness of the illnesses and their correlation to chemical emissions. “We intend to create international awareness and highlight the struggles we face on a daily basis, where our constitutional rights are violated,” said SDCEA communication and project officer, Noluthando Mbeje.
The seminar will be from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, 9 October at the Austerville community hall.
