Police arrest man in possession of 6,200 heroin straws.

THE flying squad narcotics task team arrested a Yellowwood Park man with 6,200 heroin straws on Tuesday, 2 December.

Police found the 37-year-old in his home following a tip-off. The 6,200 straws of heroin found in his possession are valued at about R124,000.

He is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrates Court on Thursday, 4 December.

“They work largely on information supplied by members of our community,” said provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni of the flying squad. “It is this type of collaboration that is contributing to stabilising and reducing serious crime in the province,” she said.
