Increased show of force during festive season.

WITH the festive season near police are increasing their visibility at shopping malls, schools, banks and businesses that are closed.

Since the beginning of November, Montclair SAP have made 50 arrests related to drugs and 33 drunk driving arrests.

There have been five reported hijackings since 1 November.

Clairwood has been saturated with police presence to curb crime in the area. Police have made numerous arrests in the Clairwood area for the possession of dagga, particularly at Clairwood railway station.

Police appeal to the public to follow general safety precautions including exercising caution when withdrawing money at ATMs.
