Awesome foursome attain PN district bowls colours

THE Bluff Bowling Club 2014 prize-giving took place on Saturday, 13 December with all domestic trophy competitions completed for the year.
Well done to Gary Moffat and Marie McKenzie.
In the women section, various winners were: Open singles June Foster; senior singles Glynis Mackrory; point singles Sarie Bisset; novice singles Chrissie Smith; nominated pairs Daphne Reinhardt and Sarie Bisset, Dawn Spack and Jay Retief with most improved player deservedly going to Elize Stapelberg.
Sarie Bisset accumulated the most points to claim the victrix ludorum award.
In the men’s section, victors were: Open singles Clinton Bisset; senior singles Robbie Johnston; novice singles Deon Els; nominated pairs Robert Mhlongo and Noel Morel; drawn pairs Paul White and Wayne Tonkin; drawn trips Dave le Roux, Tony Hoggins and Kurt Spack; drawn fours Gary Moffat, Dudley Dorrofield, Noel Morel; drawn fours Gary Moffat, Sarie Bisset, Brian Osman and Deon Els. Congratulations to all the winners and there is always next year for the rest of the troops. To kick off the 2015 campaign, the entry list for the mixed drawn fours is on the board so make sure to enter and do not miss the boat.

The club AGM was held on Sunday, 14 December with a good attendance. The wellbeing of the club was endorsed with the previous committee and office bearers being re-elected unopposed for the following year with the exception of a vote to install the men’s selectors with only one change. The entire meeting only took 35 minutes to complete with the bottom line of the treasure chest having displaying a health figure. The committee for 2015 is president Dudley Dorrofield, vice president Phyllis Maritz, treasurer Dave Rowe, secretary Elize Stapelnerg, bar manager Deon Maritz, greens liaison Dudley Dorrofield, maintenance Harvey Simpkins and Steve Baker, catering June Foster, fundraising and entertainment Jay Retief, tournaments Gary Moffat, men’s competition secretary Allen Ritchie, women’s competition secretary Marie McKenzie, Darie Bisset and Janice Rodgers and June Foster.
