Swartkop 16km hike to tax Ramblers hikers

On Sunday, 15 March, hikers go on a Swartkop adventure.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club leads two outings this weekend.

On Saturday, 14 March, hikers travel to Burman Bush.

Meet at Jack Rabbits, 203 Peter Mokaba Road in Morningside at 1.45pm and prepare to traverse the undulating, shaded path that covers most of Burman Bush. This hike over about 9km is graded two, moderate.

On Sunday, 15 March, hikers go on a Swartkop adventure. Call hike leader Francois on 083-983-8007.

Take the Cedara off-ramp from the N3 after Hilton and meet at The Rotunda at 8.15am for 8.30am for an all-day hike of ups and downs and meandering. The 16km, strenuous walk through plantations, across grasslands and past Nurse’s Dam will be worth the effort, as hikers will get to enjoy a cold beer at the end.

The hike is graded three, strenuous.
