Help SANBS reach #3000unitsaday

Save lives by donting blood.

HELP save lives and join the #3000unitsaday drive by donating blood at your local blood donor clinic.

To meet the demand, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) needs to collect 3,000 units of blood per day nationally. “However simple this may read, it is often a difficult number to reach on most days, and this has a huge impact on the lives of patients,” said communications manager, Vanessa Raju.

With Mother’s Day still fresh in everyone’s memory, the SANBS notes how important mothers are in society and that people should support their #3000unitsaday campaign for their mothers. According to the SANBS, mothers are among the highest users of blood for gynaecological and childbirth complications.

Donors must be aged 16 to 65, weigh more than 50kg, be in good health and lead a sexually safe lifestyle. To find out where the nearest donor centre is go to www.sanbs.org.za, call 080-011-9031 (toll free) or SMS your name and post code to 31454.
