A WOMAN was killed yesterday, 1 September by a tyre that bounced into the side of the taxi she was traveling in on the M4.
At about 1pm near Congella, the side shaft and wheel of a bakkie broke off and bounced into the centre median of the freeway. It then ricocheted into the side of a taxi travelling in the same direction.
Rescue Care paramedics tried to resuscitate an elderly woman who was found injured in the incident, but she was declared dead on the scene.
Three other taxi passengers had minor injuries and were stabilised and taken to hospital.
