THE new executive members of the Montclair Youth Desk were elected at a meeting on Saturday, 5 September.
The meeting, which was hosted by the Montclair Community Policing Forum and Montclair SAPS, allowed youngsters to put themselves forward as ambassadors who will work to make a change in the community.
The new executive consists of chairman, Loyiso Mkhize, deputy chairman, Sicebisiwe Skippie Mkhize, secretary, Debra Sibiya, deputy secretary, Khanyisile Mhlaba, treasurer, Nompumelelo Gumede and public relations officer, Nolwazi Nhlangulela.
“The vision of the Youth Desk is youth mobilisation towards a safe, peaceful and substance abuse-free environment, where the youth work hand-in-hand with the police and related structures,” said Montclair SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Poobalan Marimuthu.
