Eight hurt as taxi, car collide

Traffic slows as emergency personnel clear the scene

Eight people were injured when a taxi and a car collided on Jacobs Road near Teakwood Road just after 7am on Monday morning, 21 September.

Rescue Care paramedics found the vehicles had collided in a partial head-on collision. All of the injured were lying on the side of the roadway and more ambulances as well as advanced life support units were dispatched to the scene.

The injured, who all sustained minor to moderate injuries, were stabilised and transported to various Durban hospitals.

Traffic was severely affected as only one lane was open while emergency personnel cleared the scene.

The cause of the crash is not known.
