Heroin seized in Jacobs

A man was arrested.

A DRUG eradication programme in Mobeni led to the arrest of a man with heroin worth more than R2,000 on Wednesday, 14 October.

The 38-year-old was arrested by the Durban Flying Squad narcotics task team, who were conducting an operation to eliminate the drug trade in the area.

They found him on Jacobs Road in possession of 83 slopes of heroin with a street value of R2,490.

He was taken to Brighton Beach police station where he was charged with possession of drugs.

“I am always pleased with every drug-related arrest in the province. These drugs result in the decay of the moral fibre of our society and those that pedal drugs should be put behind bars,” said KZN police commissioner, Lt Gen Mmamonnye-Ngobeni.
