Bluff policemen arrested for diesel theft, hijacking
Investigations lead police to arrest their own.

CAUGHT out by their fellow officers, three Brighton Beach policemen were arrested on Wednesday, 4 May for truck hijacking and diesel theft.
An investigation into an alleged truck hijacking in Rossburgh led the investigators to their colleagues. The driver was forced into the boot of the hijackers’ car by six men before being dropped off in Umbumbulu.
The next day, the Durban Flying Squad found the hijacked truck in Jacobs Road and arrested a security guard who was guarding the place and shot at police.
The ongoing investigation led to three Brighton Beach officers being linked to the hijacking, theft of diesel and other truck hijacking incidents in February.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
“The investigation will continue until all those involved are put behind bars. We’re confident more arrests are imminent. We won’t tolerate corrupt police officers in the SAPS. Let this be a warning to others in the service who collude with criminals that your days are numbered,” said KZN provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni.
