R75,000 stolen in business robbery

The police in Wentworth SAPS are investigating a case of business robbery.

SEVENTY-FIVE thousand rand was taken from a safe in a business robbery in Merebank on Friday morning, 8 July.

While a man (68) was serving his customers at Merebank hotel, two armed men aged about 40 years old came in and pointed their firearm at him. They demanded he opened the safe. With guns pointed at his face, he feared for his life and opened it.

The men removed two boxes containing R75,000 in cash. They left fled in a car with an unknown registration number. No shots were fired and no-one was injured.

The police in Wentworth SAPS are investigating a case of business robbery.
