Salary dispute ends in fatal shooting

It is alleged the two had an argument about a salary dispute

A HEATED argument about a salary dispute left a truck driver (30) dead on Tuesday, 2 August in Jacobs.

Wentworth SAPS were informed of the shooting.

Two officers found the deceased man on the ground with a firearm beside him. The shooter was still at the scene and was questioned by police. “He revealed that the deceased had been employed at his company and stopped working for a short time,” said Wentworth SAPS communication officer, Lt Mbuso Gumede.It is alleged the two had an argument about a salary dispute when the truck driver demanded his salary to be paid to him. It was also alleged that the deceased produced a firearm first. An altercation ensued between the two men which  resulted in the suspect producing his weapon and shooting the driver.

The man was detained,  charged with murder and  appeared in Durban Court on Thursday, 8 August.
