MONTCLAIR SAPS seeks witnesses to a cellphone theft in one of the shops at the Montclair Mall on Tuesday, 15 November.
CCTV footage shows while the person placed his phone on the till counter, a man wearing a blue shirt covered the phone with a white piece of paper. He then handed the phone to a man standing on the left side of him. He was seen wearing an Uzzi shirt.
“Both exited the shop at separate times. Detective Sgt Bongiwe Ngiba is the investigating officer and her attempts to trace the two men for questioning have proved futile,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Cpt Dereck Vijiam.
Elisha Kisten from Montclair Mall centre management said the theft was not reported to centre management but robberies do happen all the time in the mall. “I encourage shoppers to report thefts so we can tell our security to be on a lookout for the suspects.”
Anyone who has information or can recognise the men in the photo can, contact D/Sgt Ngiba on 060-321-8151.
