Cable theft affects phone lines at Montclair SAPS
Local residents reported that they have been experiencing issues trying to get through to the station.
Montclair Police Station was left in the dark for about two weeks after alleged cable theft in the area. Local residents reported that they have been experiencing issues trying to get through to the station.
When asked about the matter, Montclair SAPS spokesperson, Captain Dereck Vijiam, said: “Due to the alleged theft of cables, the lines have been down internally and communication has been curtailed. We are, however, still receiving messages from radio control as well as through cellphones.”
Efforts are being made to address the current communication issues and anyone needing to contact the station is advised to call the emergency police line 10111 and ask for channel 9.
