Gloria scoops up women’s singles champ at prize-giving
The club is very sad to say farewell to Gloria Rice and wishes her well in her new home down the south coast.
WOODLANDS Bowling Club held their prize-giving on Saturday, 13 April.
The women’s singles champion was Gloria Rice and the drawn pairs winners were Gloria Rice and Rina Harper. Winners of the nominated pairs were Gloria Rice and Linda Hewer while the drawn mixed pairs winners were Tom Cloete and Rina Harper. The mixed drawn trips winners were Harold Dix, Bill Hewer and Rina Harper.
Winners of the mixed drawn fours were Norman Moore, Tom Cloete, Linda Hewer and Gavin Conlon. The men’s singles champion was Eric Coetzee and the men’s drawn pairs winners were Norman Moore and Andy Cloete. The men’s nominated pairs winners were Norman Moore and Gavin Conlon and winners of the men’s trips were Tom Cloete, Andy Cloete and Dave Lloyd and winners of the men’s drawn fours were Norman Moore, Eric Coetzee, Andy Cloete and Gavin Conlon.
After the prize-giving the men’s league teams played a home game against Stella league with Norman Moore and his team winning their game 21-14 and Harold Dix and his team lost 14-18 with Woodlands taking the win on a 3-2 score.
