Seniors educated at monthly meeting

There will be no normal meeting next month as it is the club’s annual lunch outing.

Members of the Montclair Senior Citizens group gathered at their recent meeting and was empowered by the sermon that was shared about being loved by God, irrespective of your appearance or circumstances.

Dave Matthews welcomed all present to the club’s birthday party celebration and thanked all the committee members for their work. Those in attendance also bid farewell to Bev Holthuizen, who served the club for many years by preparing sandwiches and refreshments. Bev’s position has not be filled.

After indulging in refreshments, Craig Mc Lachlan from Shanley’s Funeral Home gave an informative talk regarding funerals, old funeral policies and answered many questions. Maddeleen van Vuuren from Tafta then gave an interesting talk regarding services offered by Tafta. Thereafter there was a music quiz where a few notes of a song were played on a keyboard and whoever guessed the title correctly won prizes.

There will be no normal meeting next month as it is the club’s annual lunch outing. Those members who have booked and paid for lunch will meet at the Methodist Church Hall at 10am for tea and will proceed to the venue for lunch.
