Seminar to boost local economy through business education
Since the inception of the Blue Roof Business Clinic, an average of 15 to 20 aspiring entrepreneurs have received business education and mentorship.
THE aspiring entrepreneurs of the Blue Roof Business Clinic, in collaboration with Fullimput, Community Support Group and Zoe-Life will host another inspiring business clinic seminar on Saturday, 3 August, at the Austerville Community Hall from 9am to 1.30pm.
The clinic was established in 2018 in Wentworth to stimulate the community’s local economy through business education, mentorship as well as introducing expanded business networks and partnerships to the Durban South Basin. A number of business topics will be covered at the upcoming clinic including; intellectual property, sales and marketing skills, commercial acts, funding, black industrial programmes, non-profit and non-governmental organisations and business opportunities for the youth.

Since the inception of the Blue Roof Business Clinic, an average of 15 to 20 aspiring entrepreneurs have received business education and mentorship. “The purpose of the upcoming seminar is to disseminate business information to aspiring entrepreneurs by providing assistance and guidance on how to prepare and register a sustainable business, provide advice on various government and private support available and highlight various business and legal compliance required,” explained member, Lorraine Richards.
The programme director will be local surrealist, poet and self-published author Rodney Roskruge. “About 200 aspirant entrepreneurs are expected to attend as well as interested members of the community. We appeal to all business institutions to feel free to contribute towards the catering of this event,” added Lorraine.
