One killed in South Coast Road robbery
Charges of robbery, murder and attempted murder are being investigated by Montclair SAPS following the fatal incident.
A group of armed suspects attacked two security guards who were on duty at a business premises in South Coast Road, Mobeni, on Tuesday, 15 July at 1.30am.
According to KZN spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane the suspects tied the security guards with a rope and severely assaulted a 52-year-old man and the other was stabbed twice in the back.
“The A 52-year-old man was declared dead at the scene and the other was taken to hospital for medical attention. The suspects fled the scene with 20 tyres in their possession. The Montclair SAPS immediately responded to a complaint and a 34-year-old suspect was found in possession of 20 stolen tyres and was placed under arrest. He is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (17 July),” said Zwane.
