Wentworth BC’s fundraiser an enormous success
The fun day held on Saturday, 10 August, proved to be another victorious day
The monthly grand rapid mid-week pairs played at Wentworth Bowling Club saw Dave Carroll and Helmut Brutti sneak into first place, one shot ahead of Matt Lassak and Vic McCreanor with a 4+18.
Colin Howes and Michael Schudel scooped the second session prize. The growing band of new enthusiasts who support the Wednesday promotion and development bowls enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of bowls which proved profitable for Mike Schudel, Trystan Lassak and Marc Linkerman. Any interested persons can participate by registering to bowl at 2pm every Wednesday afternoon.
Tomasina’s men’s casual bowls played on Friday morning, 9 August, ended in a resounding win for Graham Bransby, Trystan Lassak and Ben Venter who amassed a score of +23.
In second place were Brian Smith, Norman Webster and Kearan Lassak. Gerald Royle, Herby Roux and Caude Newman left with the weekly sportsmen’s prize.
Friday morning’s women’s breakfast was a resounding success with over 60 women enjoying good food, companionship, hearty fun and some motivation from Lindy-Leigh Scriven Swales and Kimmy Worman who delivered talks on the theme ‘making a difference’.
The fun day held on Saturday, 10 August, proved to be another victorious day at Wentworth BC with children enjoying sack races, wheelbarrow and piggy back races and then joining in the fun bowls games.
The fund raising efforts saw a substantial sum being accumulated for Troy Garland’s trip to Gauteng with the Port Natal under 30 bowling team. Grateful thanks are extended to all who attended and contributed to the endeavour.
