DSW staff not allowed to tout Christmas gifts

Residents are advised to be wary of impostors posing as municipal workers to solicit gifts.

ETHEKWINI Municipality’s Cleansing and Solid Waste Unit (DSW) staff will be working throughout the festive season including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. While it is the season of giving, DSW staff are strictly prohibited from touting for gifts, including money, from residents.

Residents are advised to be wary of impostors posing as municipal workers to solicit gifts.

DSW’s operational services will continue as normal during the festive season including the public holidays. The public is urged to put out refuse as early as possible to assist in this regard.

The DSW offices will be closed on Monday, 16, Wednesday, 25 and Thursday, 26 December, and Wednesday, 1 January 2020. However, refuse collection will continue throughout the festive season, including the public holidays. For enquiries contact the DSW help line on 031-311-8804.
