Bluff Clinic temporarily closed after health worker tests positive for Covid-19
The National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) is currently testing all staff members to identify any further possible infections.
Ethekwini Department of Health has temporarily closed the Bluff Clinic after a health worker tested positive for Covid-19 today (26, May).
Ward 66 councillor, JP Prinsloo confirmed that the National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) is currently testing all staff members to identify any further possible infections, and the Department of Environmental Health will be performing a deep clean and disinfection on the entire property.
“Should you require any emergency medical attention during this time, please visit the alternative clinics, Austerville Clinic (3 Clinic Road, Austerville) or Wentworth Hospital Gateway Clinic (Boston Road, Wentworth). All other scheduled visits such as antenatal, baby health check, chronic medication and family planning during clinic closure, will be attended to after the clinic has reopened,” said Prinsloo.
The re-opening date of Bluff Clinic will be communicated once official clearance has been given by the Department of Health.
Any patients who have visited Bluff Clinic between 14 – 25 May and who show any symptoms of the Covid-19 virus within the next 14 days, are asked to self-isolate, and to contact the Covid-19 public toll-free number on 0800-029-999 to request that a test be conducted in your home.
“Do not go to a doctor or you may infect more people. Please remain calm, contact the relevant authorities and together we will get through this pandemic,” urged Prinsloo.
