The awards paid tribute to exceptional youth entrepreneurs who have built businesses in the province that have had a significant impact on the economy and the community.

PeacePlayers is sports organisation that enables conflict resolution through sports. It facilitates life skills through basketball in primary and high schools throughout Durban, including Lamontville, Wentworth, uMlazi, Cottonlands and Molweni.

The organisation was represented by its executive director, Nasiphi Khafu and international fellow, Douglas Nedab.

“This wouldn’t be possible without the support of our local coaches, participants and global network of supporters. There were more than 200 potential nominees reviewed for the awards, 33 nominees selected, and 11 organisations awarded.

“Thanks to all of the event coordinators, nominees, judges, sponsors and partners for making this awesome event possible. Thanks to the founder of the first annual youth business awards for bringing a great idea to reality. We look forward to seeing this event flourish throughout the country in years to come,” said PeacePlayers.
