WATCH: Fire guts Clairwood informal settlement

Montclair police said no injuries were sustained in the blaze.

NO deaths or injuries were reported at a fire that broke out in Clairwood on Sunday evening, December 19.

According to the spokesperson at Montclair police station, Captain Derek Vijiam, authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.

“A portion of the informal settlement near Jacobs Road caught alight. There were no deaths or injuries reported from the scene.

“The Fire Department was there to extinguish the blaze and are currently investigating the cause of it. From their report, we will be able to determine what kind of case to open for our own investigations,” he said.
