Electricity outage scheduled for the south

Bluff Ward 66 Councillor, Zoë Solomon, shared eThekwini Municipality’s electricity outage notice, set to take place this Saturday.

ETHEKWINI Municipality has issued a power outage notice, informing the public that electricity supply in the south will be interrupted on Saturday, July 2, for five hours, from midday to about 16:00.

The following areas will be affected: Island View, Bayhead, Bluff, Wentworth, Brighton Beach, Jacobs and Edwin Swales.

“Ethekwini Electricity needs to safely reinstate the continuous 132 kV busbar at the Rossburgh substation, to improve security of supply to the area. Therefore, it is necessary to interrupt electricity supplies,” read the notice.

During this outage, the public is advised to treat all electrical installations as live.
