JUST IN: Outbuilding catches alight in Montclair

Fortunately, there were no injuries, and firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.

AN OUTBUILDING was engulfed in flames in Montclair, on the corner of Streatham Crescent, around midday today (April 9).

Reports came through about smoke and a potential house on fire which ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said they responded to.

“When we arrived on scene, the house was already engulfed in flames. The Durban Fire Department also arrived on scene and was quick to extinguish the flames. There were, fortunately, no reported injuries,” said Jamieson.

Jamieson added that the cause of the fire remains unclear and that the Montclair Police and the Durban Fire Department will be investigating further.
