“I went to Wentworth Hospital on Monday (November 11) to see the doctor. On arrival a security guard that I have never seen before at the hospital grabbed my file and started reading through it. I was upset because I knew it was against the law for anyone to read through a patient’s medical file,” said le Roux.
Le Roux said on Tuesday (November 12) her husband (63) suffered a heart attack. His condition necessitated him being rushed to Wentworth Hospital.

“He was taken to the emergency ward but was only attended to in the afternoon. He collapsed, but doctors managed to resuscitate him. He was then taken to the high care unit at around 15:00 on Thursday (November 14).
“On Thursday [November 14], I went back to the hospital to visit my husband. When I arrived, a security guard did not allow me to enter the emergency ward. We had an argument and my husband came out in a wheelchair. Tracey Williams, joined us, and we all went out on the verandah for a quick chat.

“About six security guards followed us. I felt uncomfortable talking to my husband while we were surrounded by the guards who were listening to our conversation. We told them to leave. That’s when one of the security guards slapped my husband on the chest. They kept on harassing us while we were both sitting in wheelchairs,” she said.
Le Roux said the doctors and nurses at Wentworth Hospital were helpful. “After the argument with the security guards, we managed to have a meeting with the two doctors. My husband is still receiving care from these professional doctors.”
