THREE teenagers from Wentworth are fighting for their lives after unidentified assailants approached and opened fire on them on Thursday (October 9).
The injured youngsters aged between 15 and 17 were sitting in a car on the corner of Assegai and Thorn Roads at around 15:30 when the incident happened.
Police probing triple attempted murder
Wentworth Police spokesperson Captain Mbuso Gumede said the victims were in their car, when they noticed a group of boys running towards them.

“Moments later, the suspects, opened fire at the vehicle occupied by the victims before fleeing the scene. Despite their injuries, the driver, one of the three wounded, managed to drive to Wentworth Hospital to seek medical attention.
“The detectives in Wentworth are investigating three counts of attempted murder as a result of this shooting. The motive for this shooting is still unknown. No arrests have been made as yet,” Gumede added.
Detectives appeal to any witnesses to come forward with information and report to these numbers, and anonymity will be guaranteed.
