New Miss Teen eSoweto 2026 crowned in Protea Glen
The Miss Teen eSoweto 2026 crown went to Boitumelo Ngabaza during a ceremony that celebrated youth talent and leadership in Soweto.
The second annual Miss Teen eSoweto 2025/26 Crowning Ceremony brought together young women, community members, sponsors and families at the Joe Gqabi Integrated Centre in Protea Glen on Saturday, June 13.
Hosted by founder and director Fikile Motaung, the event celebrated beauty, talent, confidence and personal growth among young women from across Soweto.
Nine contestants under 20 competed for the prestigious title. Throughout the competition, contestants were judged in four categories: swimwear, traditional wear, modelling and dancing.

It was clear that the contestants impressed both the judges and the spectators with their presentation, delivered with utmost self-assurance.
A panel of four judges evaluated the contestants’ performances.
The judges included current Mrs eSoweto Fikile Zwane, fitness and wellness instructor Vicky Malete, former Mrs eSoweto 2023 Sharleen Jones and former Mrs eSoweto 2022 Ncamisile Thipe.
At the end of the competition, Boitumelo Ngabaza, 16, from Orlando West, was crowned Miss Teen eSoweto 2026.
Siziphiwe Matsolo, 14, from New Canada, was named first runner-up, while Tshepiso Makoma, 12, from Protea South, secured the position of second runner-up. Karabo Matlaopane, 18, also from Protea South, was awarded the title of third runner-up.
Snenhlanhla Jiyose, 7, from Protea Glen, was recognised as the winner of a special category and crowned Miss Little eSoweto 2026.
Speaking during the ceremony, Motaung praised the contestants for their dedication and commitment throughout the programme.
“I did not train them to perform exactly as they did on stage. They went home, practised on their own and came back ready to showcase their talents. I am proud of the effort they put into this journey,” she said.
Motaung added that the pageant aims to help young women discover their talents, build confidence and develop leadership skills that will benefit them in their future careers and communities.

Former Miss Teen eSoweto 2024/25 Khanya Nkumbi spoke about her reign as an ambassador and advised the new queens to take full advantage of their newfound opportunity.
“I would like to thank my Director for believing in me, helping me discover my talent and teaching me to believe in myself. My journey as Miss Teen eSoweto has been life-changing,” said Nkumbi.
One of the pageant sponsors, Mr Davis Rengasamy of D&S Trophies, also shared his reasons for supporting the initiative.
“Young girls are very close to my heart. As a father, I understand the importance of creating opportunities that help them grow, dream bigger and reach their full potential. That is why I proudly support Miss Teen eSoweto,” he said.
The ceremony was brought to a close by celebration from families, well-wishers, and sponsors as the newly crowned queens took their seats as ambassadors of youth empowerment.
Again, this year’s event proved that Miss Teen eSoweto is not only a beauty pageant but also a platform for nurturing leadership qualities among young girls in Soweto.
