Astro Kids and Adult Organization founder Simangele Nxumalo said: “Today is all about giving back. As an organisation dedicated to serving the community, we wanted to ensure the day was a success. We reached out to donors and requested assistance of any kind.”

She said Madiba’s legacy of giving back and serving communities resonated with the organisation’s vision and mission, making it important to commemorate the occasion.

“I am beyond happy that we were able to make a difference. This is what I live for, especially because children have been at home during the school holidays, which means more food is consumed. I would also like to thank all the donors,” she said.

The children were treated to soup and bread, snacks and fruits.
