SharpTalk aims to reach the community
Ellerine Holdings Limited (EHL), and Virgin Mobile South Africa (VMSA), have combined forces to bring smartphone brands to previously under serviced markets.
Ellerine Holdings Limited (EHL) and Virgin Mobile South Africa (VMSA) last Wednesday launched Smart Talk by Virgin Mobile at Maponya Mall.
Industrial theatre and magic tricks were the order of the day as the organisers pulled out all the stops to make the launch a success.
The aim is to bring smart phones at a price affordable to consumers that previously couldn’t afford to get phones on contract.
“We are changing the game of cellular accessibility and affordability in the South African market,” said Vincent Raseroka, the deputy CEO of EHL.
He said by making smart phones available to everyone and the collaboration with Virgin Mobile will ensure that this happens.
Rob Dodds, the chief marketing officer of EHL said the product is designed for customers wanting competitive voice and data rates.
“No matter what the customer pays per month, or how they pay, the rates remain the same.
“There are no hidden charges or complicated pricing rules.
“Customers can easily recharge anywhere, including at EHL stores, and can select affordable SMS or data bundles on their handsets,” Reseroka said.
