Women of the community together with the Senior Citizens Social Club, gave a party in honour and celebration of Salega Jardin’s 100th birthday.
Salega Jardin has two children, Asma Palmer and Arashaad Jardin. She has 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
When Palmer was asked what she thinks the secret is for her mom’s longevity, she said, “My mom loved her mom.”
“I visited her mom every day and the quraan says that if you honour your parents than you will be blessed with a long life.
“She lives a peaceful, tranquil life,” said Palmer
Jardin has a history of family that has reach ages over a hundred as for health problems seems like she found the secret to a long and happy life.
“My mom has an amazing memory. Her hearing is still very good and does not need any spectacles. There is no illness, only a bit of high blood,” said Palmer.
She is the oldest member of the Senior Citizens Social Club.
