Police investigations pays off.

Department of Community Safety’s Media Liaison Officer Thapelo Moiloa said that from the 70 police officers who were reported arrested, two officers work for his department.

The officers were arrested on charges of corruption, attempted murder, armed robbery, defeating the ends of justice, assault and several other charges.

Moiloa said the investigation was conducted by the South African Police Service (SAPS) which took six months.

He confirmed that Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi- Malobane, welcomed the dismissal of the charged police officers.

“This is a sign that SAPS is working hard to fight crime and to set an example that law breaking is an offense,” said Moiloa.
