Sophie Ndaba celebrates her birthday by giving back

Sophie Ndaba helps children reach for their dreams.

Actress Sophie Ndaba celebrated her birthday by showing love to children who suffer from life threatening illnesses.

The celebration was held at Wimpy Maponya Mall on Monday.

Ndaba was joined by her celebrity friends Winnie Ntshaba, Kamo Bombe and Penny Lebyane.

Children from Reach For A Dream Foundation together with children from the Orlando Children’s Home enjoyed themselves with their favourite TV personalities.

The event served as a platform for Ndaba and friends to promote Slipper Day which will be observed on August 7.

Slipper Day is an annual fundraising campaign for children from Reach For A Dream.

It is aimed at raising awareness about their illnesses and giving them hope about achieving their dreams.

On the day South Africans are encouraged to wear slippers to work as a way of pledging support for children in a fight against life threatening illnesses.

By purchasing stickers which cost R10 from Wimpy, people can make a donation to the course as well.

Wimpy Brand Manager Karabo Morudu said: “Last year stickers sold through Wimpy outlets resulted in just over R1.1 million in funds for Reach For A Dream and this year we would like to sell even more stickers.”
