Drugs and bribery result in arrest

Couple detained at Eldorado Park holding cells to appear in court soon.

Eldorado Park police arrested two people on Saturday afternoon.

Police were patrolling when they noticed a suspicious light green Hyundai in Goud Street Old Eldorado Park.

They stopped the suspicious vehicle.

There were two occupants inside the vehicle male and female.

Police searched the vehicle and asked the female occupant to take out anything which is illegal in her possession.

She took out three plastics containing Cat drugs and was arrested immediately for possession of drugs.

The man who was the driver of the vehicle asked the police to release the suspect.

They refused, and its alleged he took out R300 and tried to bribe one of the officers.

He was also arrested at the scene for bribing the police.

Both suspects are detained at Eldorado Park holding cells and they will appear at court as soon as possible.

“Members of Eldorado Park set an example of no tolerance to corruption.

“Management commended the members who were involved with the arrest,” captain Phillemon Khorombi said.
