Member of Mayoral Committee for Health and Social Development, Nonceba Molwele, has praised the contribution made by Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) in the City of Johannesburg.
She expressed her appreciation regarding faith organisations at a meeting held in Bramfischer last month.
Molwele said churches play a major role in society of correcting wrongs through prayers and fighting social ills.
To strengthen the foundation of FBOs, Molwele said the City is in a process of forming regional faith organisations in all seven regions of Johannesburg.
“The purpose is to work together with civil society to curb the social ills affecting communities and build social cohesion,” she said.
