Robberies in the Westside area increasing
A video taken by Andrew Rayners on Monday showing the robbery and assault of school children, taking place in the Waterval area, was made public this week.
Children from Westbury Secondary School and other surrounding schools in the area have been complaining about the robberies that have been taking place during their commute to and from school.
One pupil who does not want to be named said he came from school and was robbed in broad daylight.
“As I was walking in the street from school guys just came out of nowhere and started hitting me and they took my belongings.
“It is really scary walking in these areas and we appeal to the police to do something,” he said.
