
The first ever township wedding expo is coming to Maponya Mall on Saturday June 4.
From designers, wedding planners, make-up artists to florists and all other professionals that make a wedding a lasting memory for love birds will grace this one day extravaganza.
Titled The WedShow 2016, the event is organised by Chuma Events and it is open to the public and those who will soon be walking down the aisle for free.
Besides providing local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to network and meet potential clients, the expo is a good place to be for those planning their weddings.
Over 20 exhibitors are expected to showcase their services in various categories essential for a wedding.
Mercia Hlatshwayo, founder and designer-in-chief for Mertique’s Style House, Lucia Molefe, master baker whose cakes have graced many momentous occasions are some notable big names expected to grace the expo.
A free marriage seminar will be targeting recently engage couples who are planning to wed in the near future.
“It’s about experiencing the excitement of getting married in an intimate environment, unlike anything you’ve ever seen in Soweto.
“It is true that once the sparkles settle, the very idea of planning the biggest marvel of one’s life can be nerve wrecking. It doesn’t have to be, when you know you can find it all in one place,” said organiser, Lulu Ngomane.
Wedding ideas is not all that couples can expect to find at the expo. A grand prize of R50000 towards wedding expenses is up for grabs on the day.
Two fashion shows which will showcase the best in local designs will take place as well.
