House gutted by fire, Coronationville

On Sunday afternoon a house burned down in Coronationville

A house burned down yesterday afternoon at number 40 Malmesbury Street in Coronationville.

According to Shantel Da Gama who lives at the house, they suspect it was an electrical fault that triggered the fire.

Neighbours were very quick in extinguishing the fire but majority of household goods were damaged with rooms and ceilings burnt out as well.

“We can’t sleep at home and are currently sleeping at my friend’s house because of the damage”.

“We have lost too much because of this fire and finances are scarce so it will be difficult to recover all that has been burnt in the fire,” said Da Gama.

The family is pleading for any donations and/or material to assist in restoring their home.

Shantel Da Gama can be contacted on 073 966 5958.
