Slow response from Fire Department, Eldoradopark

A house in Boekenhout Crescent was gutted by fire yesterday. The cause of the blaze is unknown, but the inferno destroyed a vehicle and a lapa on the premises sustained severe fire damage.

The Fire Department was informed of the fire, but arrived 45 minutes after being summoned, according to a resident.Fortunately, residents quickly sprang into action and contained the fire before it spread to the rest of the house.

The combined efforts of all who assisted ensured that the blaze was doused before further damage could be sustained.
