Eldos father sells car to fund footballing son’s dream trip to Spain

Budding young footballer off to Spain

At first glance Mugammad-Yusuf MacPherson seems like your run of the mill twelve year old. Shy and retiring, he said very little when questioned about his footballing abilities.

On the field though, his reticence evaporates and he transforms into a soccer prodigy. It is this prowess which has seen his selection to the team which will represent South Africa in the Donosti Cup to be held in San Sebastian, Spain this July.

His father, Faghree MacPherson, eager to turn his son’s footballing dreams into a reality, sold the family vehicle to ensure that Mugammad-Yusuf’s place is booked.

The amount fetched through the sale still falls short of the R35 000 total required an the desperate father has turned to the community for help.

The amount raised by far is R20 000, which means Mugammad-Yusuf requires R15 000.

Eldorado Park has, in the past, produced footballers who have gone on to represent South Africa on the world stage and residents are asked to help a young boy in his quest to put Eldorado Park on the map by representing South Africa internationally.
